Proficient Orthopedics
Proficient Orthopedics offers workshops to Health Care Practitioners with the aim of simplifying and clarifying Orthopedic tools, whether it be assessment, treatment, or therapeutic exercise.
Each Proficient Orthopedics workshop is designed with a specific profession in mind, to best suit the individual needs and goals of that particular group. Nurse Practitioners will optimize their visits with reliable and accurate assessment; massage therapists will maximize treatment results with effective techniques and therapeutic exercise; and personal trainers will effectively identify imbalances and modify for injury.
Proficient Orthopedics was founded by Adrienne Jackman. Adrienne has been a Registered Massage Therapist (in good standing with the CMTBC ) since completing the 3000 hour program at the West Coast College of Massage Therapy in 2005.
Since that time she has enjoyed a career primarily focused on rehabilitative treatment, working with boxers and MMA fighters; soccer, baseball, and football players; competitive bodybuilders and triathletes; as well as weekend warriors and so-called 'desk jockeys'. In keeping with her practice, she has grown adept at orthopedic assessment and therapeutic exercise. Adrienne believes accurate assessment is the first step in treatment, while therapeutic exercise paves the road to recovery. Her massage therapy practice is based in Vancouver, BC.
In 2012 Adrienne expanded her field and began teaching at the Vancouver College of Massage Therapists, and later, with the reputable Langara College. In teaching, she felt she had found her true calling and decided to further share her knowledge and techniques by offering continuing education courses to various professionals and practitioners.
Adrienne offers her courses across Canada and the US; in the UK; and in Australia and New Zealand. If you are interested in hosting a course in your hometown please contact Adrienne to discuss availability.
